George Stavaris of Colliers Seeley's Encino office, who represented Leeds, tells GlobeSt.com that the space is serving as a distribution center to serve 20 retail stores that Leeds plans to have up and running within the next two years. Stavaris says the company already operates seven stores in Los Angeles County and plans to add 13.
The single-story, freestanding distribution facility is the first warehouse Leeds has operated, Stavaris says, explaining that the company until recently kept its inventory at individual retail stores. Leeds also is using the site as a retail outlet for clearance goods.
The Leeds facility is a concrete tilt-up building that was constructed in 1968. The building owner, Rreef of Chicago, was represented by Stuart Leibsohn of Delphi Business Properties in Van Nuys.
