The project, a mirror image of Desert North Commerce Center's Phase I in the Anthem Commerce Park near Interstate 17, is expected to be completed within six months, Thomas Kimsey, vice president of development and acquisitions for Voit Development, tells GlobeSt.com. "It's a wonderful market, a wonderful environment and has been a great magnet for the homebuyer," Kimsey said of the project's first phase, which is 92% leased just two years after construction.

Nestled in the Sonoran Desert foothills just five miles north of the Carefree Highway at 42201 and 42211 N. 41st Drive in Phoenix, the single-story Desert North Commerce Center Phase I is home to local businesses, restaurants and medical and dental offices, including Twin Pediatrics, Farmers Insurance, Allstate Insurance, Flooring Innovations, Sleep Source, Agave Landscape, Bolt Home Systems, Curves for Women, Anthem Floors Plus, Ray's Pizza and Methodist and Lutheran churches.

"We have a full array of uses, all meeting the needs of the Anthem community," Kimsey said. "It fit the niches. That's why the project has been so successful."

Although no tenants have yet signed to lease space in the project's second phase, Kimsey isn't worried. "I'd like to think we'll be fully leased before the end of 2004. That would be consistent with our experience with Phase I," he said.
