"It's going to be a great location for us," Larry Bill, with the Irvine, CA-based Claim Jumper, tells GlobeSt.com. "We currently have three locations in Phoenix and feel Tucson will be a great compliment to those other restaurants."
The 3601 E. Broadway restaurant, the first for Claim Jumper in Tucson, is estimated to cost about $3.5 million to build. It will be located adjacent to the El Con Mall, which numbers among its tenants JCPenney, Home Depot, Krispy Kreme, Robinson May and a 20-screen movie complex.
Bill said the restaurant will employ about 200 people when it opens in second quarter 2004. The firm currently has Arizona locations in Deer Valley, Tempe and Scottsdale along with restaurants in California, Colorado, Nevada and Washington.
