The space opened up earlier this year when long-time tenant Maher Terminals vacated the premises for a new HQ in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The company's move was tied to its need to be closer to its operational facilities at the Port of Newark/Elizabeth, according to Glerum.

Built back in the mid-1980s, the four-story One Journal Square Plaza totals 54,000 sf and includes an executive parking garage. The asset sits directly across from the Journal Square Station of the PATH, a light rail system that connects Newark and Jersey City with Manhattan. Estimated daily passenger count through the station is said to be in the 30,000 range.
