The space opened up earlier this year when long-time tenantMaher Terminals vacated the premises for a new HQ in BerkeleyHeights, NJ. The company's move was tied to its need to be closerto its operational facilities at the Port of Newark/Elizabeth,according to Glerum.

Built back in the mid-1980s, the four-story One Journal SquarePlaza totals 54,000 sf and includes an executive parking garage.The asset sits directly across from the Journal Square Station ofthe PATH, a light rail system that connects Newark and Jersey Citywith Manhattan. Estimated daily passenger count through the stationis said to be in the 30,000 range.
