Advanced Neuromodulation Systems Inc. now owns the 15-acre tract and will own the building, a design of Good Fulton & Farrell Architects of Dallas. The headquarters building will include research and development space and a light assembly area plus a 20,000-sf clean room. The building will be outfitted top to bottom with the most technologically advanced equipment for the industry leader's production of implantable systems, devices used to manage chronic pain resulting from central nervous system disorders and injuries.
Dallas-based Koll's Mike Rosamond, senior vice president, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the project, which delivers in third quarter 2004. Rogers-O'Brien Construction Co. of Dallas is the general contractor.
"It's a very attractive facility for a great company that's been very active in growing," Toby Grove, Koll's president, tells GlobeSt.com. Grove says the Koll team was selected for the job, its fourth in Legacy Business Park, just a couple months ago.
ANS currently is a Legacy Business Park tenant, occupying office space in a multi-tenant building at 6501 Windcrest Dr. The headquarters project will house 400 employees and comes with an option to buy another 10 acres at the Preston Road site, just north of Tennyson Parkway, Grove says.
Municipalities north of Dallas have been particularly generous in the tax abatement arena so it's a safe bet that ANS too was won with a well-endowed package to keep the homegrown business in the city's bounds. A recognized industry leader, ANS recently was named by Forbes magazine as one of America's 200 Best Small Companies plus garnered a Frost & Sullivan product innovation award as a technology leader in the neurostimulation market.
Today's ground-breaking coincides with ANS' quarterly earnings call. At last report, the firm ended 2002 with $57.4 million in revenue, up 51% from the prior year. Its neuromodulation sales jumped 70% to $46.7 million from $27.5 million.
