Eckerd is constructing a 13,908-sf building that will be located in front of the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse at the intersection of Interstate 45 and College Park Drive. Other retailers at the shopping center, which opened in fall 2001, include Chuck-E-Cheese, La-Z-Boy, Wal-Mart, Garden Ridge Pottery and Kohl's.

The 90-acre tract is practically all built out, a contact at the Woodlands Operating Co. tells GlobeSt.com. The only vacant area lies north of Kohl's.

Eckerd Drug is a Clearwater, FL-based subsidiary of JCPenney Corp., headquartered in North Texas' Legacy Business Park. The Eckerd portfolio contains 2,660 drug stores in 20 states. The College Park store, which will feature a two-lane drive-through pharmacy window, is expected to open in mid-summer.

The Woodlands Operating Co.'s Greg Jordan, director of sales and leasing for the Woodlands Operating Co. brokered the sale to Eckerd. Tom Estus, president of Shelby Estus in Houston handled talks for Eckerd.
