Brunswick has submitted plans for a 250,000-sf mixed scheme on the eastern side of Royal Avenue. The proposed development comprises 207,793 sf of retail, 58,300 sf offices and 18 flats.

Six months ago Belfast Harbour Commissioners (BHC) and Titanic Properties unveiled plans for 330,000 sq ft development, to be known as the Titanic Quarter, on 185 acres of a former shipyard. The proposal comprises 130,000 sf of offices and 200,000 sf of light industrial.

The 200,000-sf light industrial component is intended to be an extension of the site's existing 350,000 sf Channel Commercial Park while the Northern Ireland Science Park occupies 25 acres Titanic Quarter. A Development Framework for Titanic Quarter, published last year, envisages 53% of the scheme as commercial/industrial usage, 39% for homes, 4% for community facilities and 4% for the culture/heritage sector.
