HNTB, a Kansas City-based architectural and engineering firm, will be located on the first floor of the building. The relocation space will serve as the new office for their Railroad and Transit Consulting Engineering Group. Doug Woodbury, vice president of HNTB notes that the quality of the space and the convenience of the location appealed to the company.
The 113,000-sf, three-story building is part of Burlington Woods, a three-building 388,000 sf suburban office complex located between Burlington Mall Road and Route 128. Building One features a recently renovated atrium lobby, and a Rebecca's Café. Other tenants in the building include: United Systems Access Inc., Legra Systems, Work Group Technologies, and Open Wave Software.
Lanne notes that this deal was a "win-win" situation for Finard and HNTB. "Finard secured a tenant with great credit in this struggling real estate market and HNTB upgraded to more efficient space in a class A office park with abundant amenities," Lanne points out.
HNTB has three offices in the Boston area and over 60 offices nationwide.
