The complex will include an administration building, an activities building, a pediatric nursery, a visitation center and resident facility and an educational development facility, along with eight residential buildings. Children's Place at Home Safe, formed in 1998, provides care, including family counseling and shelter, for children and youth at risk of abuse, neglect, substance addiction and HIV/AIDS.
The ground-breaking ceremony included appearances by former Miami Dolphin and Children's Place supporter Dan Marino, supermodel Kim Alexis and U.S. Olympian Bob Beamon.
