The 54,007-sf store will be at 650 N. Euclid St. at the intersection of Crescent Avenue. The store is a venture of Gigante USA Inc., the Southern California branch of Grupo Gigante of Mexico, which operates four other Gigante stores in Southern California, all outside Orange County. Gigante stores feature a bakery, tortillas made on the spot, full-service deli and an extensive selection of fresh produce.

The 97%-leased Anaheim Plaza, just off the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, is a 487,000-sf power center with retail draws such as Wal-Mart, Mervyn's, CompUSA, Ross Dress for Less and Smart 'N Final. Originally opened in 1954 as a traditional, one-level, three department store shopping center and one of the first regional malls in California, Anaheim Plaza was renovated and reopened by Donahue Schriber in 1994 as a "demalling" project.

Costa Mesa-based Donahue Schriber, a private REIT, manages the property, which is owned by California State Teachers Retirement System with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments as the asset adviser. Anaheim Plaza is one of 67 neighborhood, community and power centers encompassing more than 13 million sf of retail space in California, Nevada and Arizona that are either owned or operated by Donahue Schriber.
