Brook Mays signed a 10-year lease at the spot, Greg Bracchi of the Staubach Co.'s Dallas office tells GlobeSt.com. He says the firm tends to grow by merger and acquisition and many times the takeovers come with small leased spaces. Once Brook Mays takes over, he says they reposition the store to a larger format, typically 8,000 sf to 10,000 sf. Bracchi says he will complete four additional store relocations for Brook Mays in Houston this year.
The Friendswood store will share the building with Tweeter Inc., an electronics retailer. Bracchi says the two tenants practically evenly split the space in the freestanding building, a one-time location for Krauss Custom Crafted Furniture. Charles Scoville with the Houston office of United Equities represented the building owner, Union Place Group LP.
