In the interim, Fleming had supplied Denver customers with products from other convenience divisions in the region.
"The entire team did a phenomenal job of re-establishing our successful Denver operations over a very short period of time," says Mike Walsh, president and CEO of convenience distribution for Fleming.
"I am grateful for the support we received from the community leaders and our customers, and excited about resuming service from the profitable Denver division, " he says.
The opening comes as Fleming, which recently filed for Chapter 11 reorganization under the federal bankruptcy laws, is closing other centers.
The company is closing its grocery wholesale divisions in Salt Lake City, UT; Warsaw, NC; Northeast, MD; and Phoenix, AZ. In addition, the company is closing a general merchandise distribution center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
