The facility, located at 291 Evans Way here, replaces a smaller location nearby. The office component totals some 20,000 sf, while the asset management space makes up the rest. The company provides services locally to such companies as BMS, Merck and Novartis.
Needless to say, DS&D has designed many of its own applications into the new space, which was built by DS&D's Construction Management Division. It houses sales operations and support staff and services as the company's New Jersey headquarters.
"Many of our customers are concerned about the current inflexibility of their office space," says Scott Douglas, president of DS&D. "Their technology and business processes change rapidly, but the office landscape tends to lag behind."
Along the same lines, the company's new facility here was designed and built in-house to support new work modes and processes, according to Douglas. "Everything in the interior environment is moveable and interchangeable."
Among its features, according to Douglas, is that all of the building's HVAC and cable management systems are integrated into an underfloor plenum.
DS&D's New Jersey division was formed as a sister company in the mid 1970s under the name Office Interiors. In 1999, the company consolidated trade names and combined marketing efforts, and today has annual revenues of more than $150 million and over 300,000 sf of asset management in multiple facilities for its corporate clients.
