Attorney George M. Shanks Jr. and Southern American Title are the office mates, which also team for mortgage transactions. Keith Lloyd with the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co. tells GlobeSt.com that they signed a medium-term lease and are planning to occupy the space July 1 in a relocation from a shared office at the nearby San Felipe Plaza. The title company will set up shop in 2,900 sf, with lobby exposure, on the ground floor while the attorney took the balance in a second-floor office that adjoins the stairwell, according to Lloyd.
Lloyd says the 193,000-sf building was gutted and renovated, with the quoted rate now falling between $20 per sf and $22 per sf. He and Mark Preston with Moody Rambin Interests in Houston represented the building owner, Koswood Investment Corp. Rollie Andre and Thomas Ford, both with the Houston office of Dallas-based Henry S. Miller Commercial, represented the title company and attorney.
