Borders Sets Up Shop in International Terminal

BOSTON-The Ann Arbor, MI-based retailer is leasing 1,246 sf in Logan International Airport's Terminal E, which serves travelers on international flights. The concept has been tried in Newark, NJ, Cincinnati and Orlando.

The space in airport terminal that handles international flights is large enough to carry 6,000 books as well as 600 magazines and newspapers.

"We're pleased travelers have embraced the Borders' concept in this new format," says Borders president Tami Heim. "The industry recognizes that we have a solid concept and we hope more airports will be interested in exploring what Borders has to offer travelers."

At least one trade publication has named the airport stores the best new specialty retail concept this year.
