Urban Splash will start work in Autumn on the long-overdue redevelopment of The Fort--the formed Dunlop tyre factory beside the M6 motorway--and it is expected to be completed by 2005. At the same time Advantage West Midlands is investing £70 million ($115 million) into the second phase of the massive Eastside development to create a Learning and Leisure Quarter and a Technology Park. And now the agency has secured 40 acres of land at Longbridge which is set to be the home of the Regional Centre for Microsystems.
AWM chairman Nick Paul said: "Advantage West Midlands is making things happen for the good of the region and everyone living and working here. These three projects will collectively create more than 13,000 jobs for the region."
