The retailer will open a Bombay Co./BombayKIDS combination store in a 78,000-sf third phase that is under construction as a lifestyle component to the 177,000-sf Kingwood Commons. The tenant signed a 10-year lease with options, a contact tells GlobeSt.com.

Kingwood Commons Shopping Center is a 20-acre development owned by Planned Community Developers, a company formed in 1997 by the officers of Sugarland Properties. The contact says the third phase is now 80% pre-leased and will deliver in October. Other third-phase tenants are Talbots, Chico's and Ann Taylor Loft.

Bea Naranjo, director of retail leasing for Planned Community Developers represented the property owner in the lease negotiations. Roseanne Hunt of the Bombay Co. was the in-house representative for the tenant. The Kingwood Commons store will be Bombay Co.'s second combination location in the Houston area, the first opening in October 2001 at Town and Country Village.
