The hotel is the first of this Marriott all-suite brand to open in the city. The $42 million hotel was jointly developed by National Development of Newton, MA and Pyramid Advisors of Boston, which also operates the hotel under a franchise agreement with Marriott.

Among its features are an 8,000 sf pier that fronts the Harbor, where a private water taxi shuttle stops at Logan Airport and other Boston Harbor destinations, an indoor swimming pool and fitness room.

Warren Fields, principal of Pyramid Advisors, says the Marriott Residence Inn will appeal to multiple market segments, from the overnight business traveler to the week-long vacationer to the month-long relocater. Fields points out that the Marriott Residence Inn's Freedom Trail location makes it particularly attractive for traveling families.

Pyramid is a hotel management and advisory firm whose portfolio includes 11 hotels, among them Marriott Residence Inn hotels in Woburn and Framingham, MA, both of which were co-developed with National Development.
