Lane was formerly a vice president and partner at Houston-based Boyd Page Commercial Real Estate Services where he represented a variety of regional and national retail clients, such as Kohl's, Eye Masters, Ross Dress For Less and The Great Indoors. Additionally, Lane has handled disposition of excess real estate for clients such as Sizzler Family Steak House, Best Buy and K-Mart.

Edward Page, vice president of Boyd Page, tells GlobeSt.com that Dean was a "great broker and a great partner." Page says Lane's former firm wishes him great success.

In a prepared statement, Lane said that NewQuest's performance over the last few years has been "remarkable." NewQuest was founded in 2001 and owns and manages over 105 properties in more than 55 retail centers in Texas, Missouri and New Mexico, totaling 3.5 million sf.

"Dean is widely considered to be one of the premier retail brokers in the Southwest," says NewQuest principal Steve D. Alvis in the press release. "A major component of our success at NewQuest has been based upon building relationships with local, regional, and national retailers. But, as our projects have gotten larger and more complex, and we began to compete with much larger development companies, we realized we needed to bring in someone with the experience and capabilities that could take us to the next level in retail brokerage."
