The Service Center Ltd. signed for a building at 6450 Clara Rd. in the West by Northwest Industrial Park. Right now, the firm leases two sites for office and distribution, Brian Gammill, managing director of industrial services for Houston-based Transwestern Commercial Services, tells GlobeSt.com. The plan is to carve about 5,000 sf for the headquarters team and dedicate the balance to warehouse and distribution.
The Service Center is a 20-year-old company that assists clients with storage and distribution, order fulfillment, third party logistics, e-commerce, advertising and direct mail marketing. "The Service Center chose 6450 Clara," Gammill said in a press release, "because the building allowed them to consolidate operations and gain operational efficiencies. In addition, they liked the fact that they could expand with the landlord based on future growth needs." The building owner is Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of New York City, which owns 250,000 sf of multi-tenant property in the master-planned park.
Gammill said other factors in the site selection were the end cap location and proximity to Service Center's customers. Bob Berry in the Houston office of Dallas-based Staubach Co. represented the tenant, who conducted an extensive survey of the northwest corridor's available inventory.
