Kirby's acquired the southwest corner of Timberloch Place andInterstate 45. Chuck Keller of Strode Property Co. in Dallasrepresented the restaurateur while seller, the Woodlands OperatingCo., used its director of commercial sales and leasing, GregJordan, to broker the transaction. Land previously was reported asselling for $7.51 per sf in the Woodlands.

"The Woodlands location and demographics are almost identical tothose of our most successful restaurant in the Dallas area," JimIngram, Kirby's owner said in a press release. "We chose theWoodlands because we feel it's the best possible location for us tobe in our Texas expansion." The 50-year-old chain has onerestaurant in Dallas and two in the suburbs of Plano andSouthlake.

The 300-seat Woodlands location will include banquet rooms,valet parking and a bar overlooking Lake Robbins. According to aKirby's contact, ground will break soon.
