Under a 10-year lease agreement with building owner, Estes-Samuelson LLC, the tuition-free school will pay $3.4 million for the 2820 W. Kelton St. building, which it will convert into classrooms, a performance area, science lab and administrative offices.
"The building layout was right for them and the location was where they wanted to market," Eddy Moore, with Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial, tells GlobeSt.com, noting that the site was formerly the home of Honeywell's administrative offices. He said the conservatory, run by Ronald Bonanni and Richard Schultz, both former administrators and faculty members at another college preparatory school, will serve grades six through 12.
Moore represented the conservatory in the lease negotiations. Ashley Brooks and Jim Bayless, both with Insignia/ESG, brokered the terms for the building owner.
