Land is selling for an average of $8.72 per sf in the Woodlands, a contact for Woodlands Operating Co. LP tells GlobeSt.com. The dealership will open late this year or early next year along an interstate frontage road just south of College Park Drive. It is the fifth BMW dealership and second Mini Cooper dealership in Houston.

"The growth of the Woodlands and the amount of customers we have in this community are the main reasons we are opening this dealership," Joe Irpino, vice president and general manager of the dealership, said in a press release. "We want to make it more convenient to service our many customers in this area."Last year, the Woodlands put in the infrastructure to more than 200 acres with Interstate 45 frontage as a prelude for the active marketing campaign that's now under way, according to a company contact. AutoNation took land near St. Luke's Woodlands Community Medical Center and College Park Plaza.

Jason Baker of Houston-based Wulfe & Co. and Caroline Summers in the Houston office for Dallas-based Staubach Retail Services represented AutoNation. Greg Jordan, director of commercial sales for the Woodlands Operating Co., bargained its terms.
