In this Northern New Jersey community, Bombardier Motor Corp. of America, an international maker of transportation equipment, has sold the 87,634-sf 777 Jefferson Rd., an industrial facility that sits on a 7.6-acre site. The buyer was Gordon Parsippany LLC, a local investment group.

As part of the sale, Bombardier has vacated the building and the new owner has given Colliers Houston the assignment to find tenants for it on a direct lease basis. Located near I-80 and I-287 contiguous to a UPS Distribution Center, 777 Jefferson Rd. includes just less than 17,000 sf of office space. The new owner intends to substantially upgrade its acquisition to ready it for occupancy, according to Weinberg.

In West Caldwell, NJ, meanwhile, Robbins Realty LP has sold the 51,000-sf, three-acre 7 Patton Drive to Advantage International Foods Inc. Previously used as office space, the office/flex facility will be used by the new owner for the importation and distribution of specialty food products.

"Despite the state of the national economy, the commercial real estate market in Morris County and in west Essex County is very active," according to Turse, whose firm is headquartered in Teaneck, NJ. Besides its Parsippany location, Colliers Houston also has an office in Somerset, NJ.
