The development will be the second office project in the Sacramento area forOpus West, which also was the developer of a 325,000-sf, high-risebuild-to-suit office project for the California Attorney General's office at13th and I streets. Occupancy for the first phase of Opus Corporate Center is slated for summer2004. In the land sale, Kevin Larscheid of CB Richard Ellis was the onlybroker involved and represented Opus West.Opus West will serve as the project developer, with Opus West ConstructionCorp. and Opus Architects & Engineers as the project general contractor andarchitect, respectively.
Other Sacramento developments by Opus West include retail centers StanfordRanch, which is 187,000 sf in Roseville, and Broadstone Plaza I and II, a375,000-sf power center in Folsom. The company is also the developer of a187,000-sf build-to-suit project for Hewlett-Packard Co. O'Donnell says thenew project is the result of a commitment the company made a couple of yearsago to broaden its reach by extending into all development product lines inthe Sacramento market. Among other projects, the Opus West NorthernCalifornia regional office has apartment complexes in various stages ofdevelopment in Santa Rosa and Emeryville.
