With its move to the additional space, LeapFrog will now account for 85% of the 137,203 available square footage in Building A of the Hollis Business Center, which is at Hollis and 64th streets.

LeapFrog employs more than 650 workers at Hollis Business Center, which Simeon acquired in 1999. The purchase included a large warehouse and an adjacent 2.5-acre vacant parcel in the city's historic Butchertown District. The project included the redevelopment of the warehouse building in addition to the construction of a new three-story office building and a five-level, 600-car parking garage.

LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. is a publicly held designer, developer and marketer of technology-based learning products that was founded in 1995 and is based in Emeryville. Its products include software for home use that teaches phonics, reading, math, music, geography, social studies and science. The company also develops products for use in schools, including books and other teaching aids. The expansion by LeapFrog is part of continuing commercial property growth in Emeryville, where a number of office, retail and industrial developments have taken shape in recent years. LeapFrog is one of a number of software and technology firms that have located there, along with retail centers like the 400,000-sf Bay Street shopping center.

Simeon Commercial Properties was founded in 1984 to develop and acquire office, technology, R&D and mixed-use properties in in-fill locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The company also provides asset management, property management and leasing services for its own portfolio and those of third parties.
