Background Information Systems renewed a 5,055-sf lease and carved out another 2,500 sf of contiguous space for itself in the 57,000-sf Washington Mutual Building at 10501 N. Central Expressway in Dallas. The tenant's rep, Scott Aronson of Fort Worth-based NAI Stoneleigh Huff Brous McDowell's Dallas office, tells GlobeSt.com that the tenant of "seven to 10 years" signed a five-year lease with economics that were "the best for the company" after doing some shopping in the marketplace.
Finish-out is nearing the start, with the outsource firm for background screening planning to take over the extra office space in two months to gain a 7,555-sf foothold on the top floor of the three-story office building. John Eschberger with EEI Realty Services in Dallas represented the building owner, Provident American Insurance Co.
In a straight-up renewal, Ashton Woods Home Design Center held onto 6,114 sf at 1611 North I-35E in Carrollton. Brett French of Property Advisers Realty Inc. in Irving crafted the package for investment group owner of Capital Tech Center while Randy Cooper of Insignia/ESG represented the tenant. The homebuilder is a subsidiary of the Great Gulf Group, which opened its first Dallas-Fort Worth office in 1989.
In the Dallas CBD, the law firm of Jenner & Block LLC re-upped 6,339 sf for the long term in a deal put together by John Shaunfield of Dallas-based Mohr Partners. The tenant occupies a class A office in the Bank One Center at 1717 Main St., owned by the locally based Main Street Partners investment group.
Champion Home Builders re-upped 2,205 sf in the Governors Row Office Park at 2001 E. Lamar St. in Arlington. Beaux Riley of SCM Real Estate Services represented the building owner, another regionally based investment group, Governor's Row Investment LP.
