ATLANTA-Not bothered by selling to a competitor, UPS received an estimated $12 million or $160,000 per acre ($3.67 per sf) for the 75-acre tract south of Cobb County's McCollum airport.

The site is west of Interstate 75 and south of old U.S. 41, near Cobb County's McCollum Airport in suburban Atlanta. CB Richard Ellis Inc.'s Atlanta office negotiated for FedEx. The courier had been scouting for a close-in site in the Interstate 75 corridor, according to the report.

UPS, based in suburban Sandy Springs, GA, had owned the land for about 15 years and had no development plans for the parcel, the report states.
