Ink Dries on Powell Goldstein's $39M Lease

WASHINGTON, DC-Law firm Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy LLP seals the deal on its new digs by signing off on the preleasing of 85,000 sf at 901 New York Ave., a new class A office tower that is proving to be quite popular among the Washington, DC legal set.

Cushman & Wakefield handles leasing activity in the building on behalf of the owner. Space in the 11-story office tower rents for $34 to $36 per-sf. As per CB Richard Ellis' Law Firm Practice Group, which represented the tenant in the transaction, Powell Goldstein's 10-year lease agreement carries a $39 million value. Building construction is scheduled for completion next summer, and Powell Goldstein expects to make its relocation from Pennsylvania Ave. into its new digs in November.
