The developer's 30-story project, which is reportedly costing about $120 million, exceeds the city's 155-foot maximum height requirement, but according to Jessica Shumaker, spokesperson for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the developer wants to create a planned development area that will allow it to go above that zoning requirement.

Shumaker tells GlobeSt.com that Kensington filed its proposal with the city last July and is nearing the end of its city approval process. Shumaker says there could be one more comment period before the city makes its decision.
