More than half of a bipartisan group of 800 likely voters claimed to be familiar with a person or persons who struggle every month to maintain household expenses ranging from rent and mortgage payments to utilities. Not only are both Democratic and Republican voters aware of the lack of affordable housing, they are also willing to put the issue ahead of one of today's hot-button political topics, as far as the level of importance is concerned.
Of the those polled, 57% responded in the affirmative to the declaration that, "Congress spending money to make sure that low income people have housing they can afford to rent is more important than Congress cutting taxes.
