The Arrowhead site currently consists of parcels that have been vacant for 35 years. Habitat made a proposal to the Boston Redevelopment Authority which says that the project is consistent with the vision outlined in the Blue Hill Avenue Task Force's 1996 report.

BRA director Mark Maloney points out that the proposal comes on the heels of Mayor Thomas M. Menino's announcement regarding the success of the city's three-year housing initiative, Leading the Way. He adds that the BRA continues to receive proposals for more housing projects that he believes will help alleviate the housing crunch in Boston.

The public comment period for this project ends July 20.
