The company designs and tests automobile motor assemblies,windshield wiper systems, power window regulator motors, startersand cooling fans. Gov. Jennifer Granholm said the new researchfacility is a welcome addition.

The company had considered locating the testing and researchcenter in either Brighton or a competing site in Indiana, where thecompany operates a sister facility. A Single Business Tax creditworth $1.6 million over a 10-year period helped convince thecompany to expand and create new jobs in Michigan, said stateofficials.

The City of Brighton has proposed a local tax abatement worthabout $918,200 over 10 years to help attract the new researchfacility.
