Chilled Ponds' new owner is also the force behind the international Cavanagh's Developmental Hockey Program, which will play a role in offering hockey-playing options to young and old. "The Chilled Ponds is a tremendous benefit to the City of Chesapeake," says Mayor William E. Ward. "Not only does this ice sports facility provide recreational opportunities for the residents of the Hampton Roads region, but it also attracts thousands of visitors to the city from around the country each year." Inside, ice sports fans will have access to two professional-size ice rinks, a 6,000-sf fitness center, a dozen locker rooms, a food facility, two sports retail shops and an arcade.
