Renovations of the new site are underway and the college says it will be ready for classes in the fall. Creating a public/private partnership, the city of Lawrence has made an investment of $150,000 to assist Cambridge with the establishment of the site, according to city officials. The college has campuses in Springfield, MA and Chesapeake, VA as well as instructional sites at more than 20 locations throughout New England.
Lawrence Mayor Michael Sullivan, who was very active in bringing the college to Lawrence, says that the city welcomes the college "with open arms" and emphasizes that the college will play an "intricate role in the economic development not only for Lawrence, but for the whole Merrimack Valley."
