The deal that ended the litigation calls for the 10-year extension of Marriott's contract to manage Charleston Marriott, and the renovation of the hotel, to be partially funded with a $1 million loan from Marriott. The two companies will also partner-up on developing a new property in Forest City. "After our review, we are totally satisfied with Marriott's management practices at our hotel and look forward to working with them in Charleston for many years to come," says Albert Ratner of Forest City Enterprises of Cleveland, In Town's parent organization. "Getting Marriott involved in a new hotel project with us expresses our confidence in them as a hotel manager and is a win-win situation for both companies."
