The average occupancy rate in June was 65.8% compared with 69.3% in June 2002, according to the latest Rocky Mountain Lodging Report.
The average room rate was flat at $92.75 compared with $92.55 a year earlier.
Year-to-date the average occupancy rate was 55%, compared with $57.8% in June 2002 and the average room rate at mid-year was $92.21, compared with $96.40.
The highest room rate was found in Aspen, at $260.40 per night. That was more than twice the average hotel rate at Vail, which had an average room rate of $125.16 in June. Denver-area hotels are showing the same trend.
