The building, one of the first refrigerated warehouses in thecountry, was used as a shipping-receiving center for the factorycomplex. It is located at the corner of River and WashingtonStreets, and is one of 16 structures in the Dorchester/Milton LowerMills Industrial District, which were built between 1868 and 1947.Fifteen of these buildings were once part of the Walter Baker &Company, makers of chocolate and cocoa products.
