The Cary, NC-based company also says it has an area development agreement with TAMED Ventures Inc. for three units in Worcester, MA. The company notes that the deals initiate its "next phase" to identify real estate and prioritize locations to open in mid-2004.
Bear Rock Cafe currently has 18 locations in five states, with an additional 10 slated to open this year. These deals bring a total of 141 franchise commitments that span 17 states. Bear Rock Franchise Systems franchises restaurants under the name Bear Rock Cafe, a bakery-cafe concept in the quick-casual dining segment. Units typically occupy between 3,500 to 4,500 sf of space in community and lifestyle shopping centers.
In recent weeks, Bear Rock Cafe multi-unit agreements have been announced in Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Allentown-Bethlehem, PA, central New Jersey and suburban New York City.
