The current zoning allows for a redevelopment that could include 40,000 sf of space. However, the department will be looking at the number of new jobs that could come to the Greater Grand Crossing community, as well as the developer's track record, financial ability and the price they are willing to pay.

The city acquired the property through a tax sale in 2001, when it got the property appraised for $92,500. Developers have an Oct.10 deadline to turn in their proposals.
