The signing marks the initial deal arranged at the sprawling complex by Trammell Crow Co., which recently got the marketing assignment. Heading the effort for TCC are senior vice president Leo Paytas, vice president Mitchell Katz and senior associate Neal Heinz. Colliers Houston of Teaneck, NJ spoke for BASF in the latest transaction.

"The marketing campaign we have implemented at the NJFTZ is generating a strong reception among brokers as well as in the business community," according to Paytas.

The single-story building at 450 Clark Dr. totals just over 250,000 sf and sits on a 22-acre site. A significant portion of the building is currently occupied by L-3 Communications.

The NJFTZ makes up a 300-acre portion of the 684-acre, seven million-sf International Trade Center which, besides BASF, is home to such HQ operations as BMW, Givaudan Roure and Unilever. According to Paytas, blocks of space currently available include 80,000 sf of office space and 20,000 sf of industrial space at 450 Clark Dr., 113,000 sf of warehouse space at 650 Clark Dr. and 101,000 sf of flex space at 330 Waterloo Valley Rd. The campus also has several build-to-suit opportunities, according to Paytas.
