The project is being developed by the Sydney Cos. and HDS Architecture, a Boston-based firm, which recently completed the design for the one-story building. The development plan has received its planning approvals.

"We have incorporated a human scale and a sense of place with many shade trees, street furniture and abundant store frontage," notes Hans D. Strauch, principal of HDS. He adds that he anticipates that these measures will "greatly enhance the revitalization of a distressed area on Trapelo Road and were very well received during site plan review."

The retail center will also include 138 parking spaces.
