Allen Matkins, which also has branches in Los Angeles, Orangeand San Francisco counties, has maintained a presence in San DiegoCounty for more than 15 years. It was in 1987 that Allen Matkinsopened its first San Diego office in University Towne Centre, saysMike Pruter, a tax and real estate attorney based in the new DelMar Heights location. In 1994, Allen Matkins relocated its UTCbranch to Downtown San Diego, "but over the years recognized thatthe core of the real estate and corporate client base live and workin North County," Pruter tells GlobeSt.com. Thus, the idea to openan additional office in Del Mar Heights was conceived. Pruter saysthe new location will give Allen Matkins the opportunity to "expandthe corporate practice and better service the core strength of thefirm, which is the real estate practice."

Located at 12348 High Bluff Drive, the new office currentlycounts eight lawyers on staff. Pruter expects that the Del MarHeights location and the Downtown San Diego branch, which houses 38attorneys, will eventually "work pretty interchangeably." Lawyersfrom the two offices are already connected in terms of phones andcomputers, Pruter adds.

In addition to its Del Mar Heights and Downtown San Diegooffices, Allen Matkins also operates offices in Century City, LosAngeles, Irvine and San Francisco.
