To be designed by the architectural firm of Johnson Fain, the new office tower would occupy a site in the heart of Costa Mesa's Theater and Arts District, at Park Center Drive at Anton Boulevard.
No date has been set for the beginning of construction of the tower, which be sited around a newly designed arts plaza. Brett Munger, chief operating officer of CommonWealth Partners, describes the building design as "a slender shaft of high performance glass planes," with a lobby finished in natural stone, featuring tailored millwork and custom lighting. Munger says the new project demonstrates CommonWealth's "commitment to this area's continued growth," adding that the new building "will be geared toward the dynamics and demand of this unique market."
The 19.2-acre Two Town Center complex currently includes twin 15-story office towers, an eight-story office building, a five-story office building, and four freestanding restaurants. The property's centerpiece is a 1.6-acre sculpture garden designed by Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi. In addition to the new office tower, lush new landscaping and signage are planned to integrate all elements of the expanding complex as well as new pedestrian paths and lighting.
