Absolute Color of Houston, which specializes in government printing, took over 10,000 sf to push occupancy to 100% at a 16,000-sf building at 3842 W. 12th St. The printer signed a five-year lease in an expansion of its Midtown operation, Mark Lehman with the Houston office of Grubb & Ellis Co. tells GlobeSt.com.
The printer is sharing the building, situated just inside Loop 610 at Hempstead Highway, with its owner, Edmund Shiu, who runs a seafood business from the location. Lehman brokered both sides of the deal for a building with a quoted rent of 50 cents per sf.
About half a mile away at 4444 W. 12th St., the Scooter Store signed a 4,405-sf lease for a 42,250-sf building in Post Oak Business Center I, owned by Aurora, CO-based ProLogis. Aaron Schlameus and Nick Limperos, also with Grubb & Ellis' Houston office, represented the tenant while ProLogis used in-house broker, Jeremy Giles, to negotiate its terms.
