Karmann USA, Inc. is the American subsidiary of Wilhelm Karmann GmbH, a German-based automotive supplier offering a range of services from engineering and vehicle development to manufacturing and assembly. Karmann is known for its convertible engineering and production. Karmann's current customer list includes DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company (Jaguar), Renault and Audi.
The new facility replaces existing office space in Livonia that Karmann had opened in 1996 and is providing office space for engineering, sales and marketing as well as a prototype shop. The lobby includes an automotive display for prototype cars and the buildings exterior is equipped with sunshades that add a distinctive appearance to the building.
