New homeowners have laid claim to more than 80% of the condominium and townhomes for sale at the development, located at 500 East Grant St. Homebuyers‚ interest in the development is growing as the construction work progresses, especially among prospective buyers for homes in the $350,000 to $950,000 range, says Tom Dillon, Senior Project Manager, APEX Asset Management.

The first of the Grant Park City Home townhomes are expected to be available for homeowner occupancy in mid-October, while the condominium tower is about halfway up to its 27 stories. The 510-vehicle enclosed parking structure, shared by all Grant Park residents, is also ready for homeowner use in time for delivery of the townhomes.

While 39% of the buyers are from the City of Minneapolis, the development is also attracting many homeowners from the western suburbs and other areas of the Twin Cities as well, says Tom Lund, Director of Real Estate Development, OPUS Northwest.

The developers say their project is the only new, full amenity luxury residential building in downtown Minneapolis. Among the amenities are an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, fitness facility with steam room, tanning room and massage room, a party room with a fireplace and multiple TVs, guest suites, a business center, grocery and dry cleaning services and a resident car wash bay, among others.

The project is going up on three acres in the southeast corner of the Central Business District near the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Project design work is provided by OPUS Architects and Engineers Inc., Minneapolis and Humphreys and Partners Architects, Dallas. Garrison Partners of Chicago provides project sales and marketing services. Edward R. James Partners LLC of Chicago is providing custom unit selections and interior unit completion.
