"They are one of the leading market specialists in the area," Degodny says of the real estate firm, which will move from 9700 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. early next year and set up its corporate headquarters in the Dallas-based REIT's building. They are among four new tenants taking a total of 62,000 sf.
"We're proud they chose us for their corporate headquarters," Degodny tells GlobeSt.com.
Degodny has been busy finding replacements for the Canadian National Railroad, which left a 70,000-sf hole in the 370,573-sf building when it moved to a south suburban build-to-suit. Besides CB&K, Degodny also signed a 25,967-sf deal with financial services Internet technology firm SunGard.
While declining to reveal lease terms, Degodny says the deals are in the neighborhood of the published $16.50 per sf asking net lease rate for the building. "They're not quite that level but both sides are happy with the deal," he tells GlobeSt.com.
CB&K partner Richard Berger handled negotiations for his company, while SunGard used David Gordon and Josh Gorin of Studley.
Meanwhile, Coilplus Holdings America Inc. signed a 4,268-sf lease and Polycom Inc. agreed to a 3,967-sf deal. Ray Okigawa of TriStar Associates, LLC represented Coilplus Holdings America, a steel service center. Mike Walker of Leasecorp Inc. represented Polycom, a technology company that needed space for a sales office.
