Kenneth A. McHugh, president of the Educational Advancement Fundcreated by the three universities for the "superdorm" venture, saysmore than 20 companies received requests for proposals to managethe 18-story property. The building also includes 31,000 sf ofground-floor retail space, a 30,000-sf cafeteria and a 20,000-sflandscaped "green roof" on the third floor.

"US Equities is the premier building operations company inChicago and offered the greatest expertise in providingcomprehensive physical plant and property operations for thisfacility," McHugh says.

US Equities' 40-million-sf management portfolio includesproperties owned by the School of the Art Institute andapproximately 200 Chicago public schools. The company's deal withthe Educational Advancement Fund is for five years.
